Every so often, my Dad will send me an envelope stuffed with articles he has collected while reading his morning paper. They are things that catch his fancy or that he thinks will catch mine, and he calls this collection, Odds & Ends.
While trying to think of something to blog about, I was reminded of my Dad and thought what a good idea it would be to blog about a few little things that had happened on the ranch. Nothing especially big, just a bunch of Odds and Ends.
Ever wonder what goes on in a chicken’s little brain when it lays an egg?
OK, you probably haven’t, but I have.
There can be a cacophony of sound in the coop when the girls are laying, all of them squawking at once, trying to outdo each other and that noise then spreads to the hens outside who have to chime in with their opinions (whatever that might be).
And if that noise is not loud enough, the roosters may join in, most likely saying, “Yes dear” in chicken language.

Well not that long ago, I found these two eggs in one of the nests.
A large egg weighs 2 oz and an extra jumbo 2.5…whichever girls laid these two must have had a lot to say.
We have an aspen tree outside our family room which has become a cat magnet.
We’ll be watching TV and suddenly there is a cat staring at us.
Or maybe they just want to channel surf..hehe.
Until next time, Happy Trails
