Original Knitting Designs

Designing knitting patterns has quickly become a passion of mine.  I love the whole process from looking through pattern books, to swatching with my own (and sometimes someone else’s) hand dyed yarns to finally seeing the finished concept come to life.

Hand Dyed Alpaca Yarns

Our 100% alpaca yarn comes from our own herd of 33 Huyaca alpacas.  We have them shorn here on the ranch every spring, and then I (Diana) “skirt” their fleeces, removing excess dirt and keeping only the best parts of the fiber for our yarns.  The many pounds of fiber then heads off to our local “mini mill” where it is washed, tumbled, picked, carded and finally spun in to our gorgeous, sinfully soft and sumptuous yarns.

Alpaca is light weight yet extremely warm and hypo allergenic.  If you find that you cannot wear wool, then alpaca is just the fiber for you.  It is truly a pleasure to work with and the feel of it in your hands is hard to describe, but I can tell you that no matter how many times I handle our yarn, I am always amazed at the wonderful feel of it.

I hand dye all of our yarns in small batches, generally 2-3 skeins at a time, using a crock pot and professional acid dyes. The results are rich, saturated colors that are unique and one of a kind.

Hand Dyed Fingering Yarns

Our fingering weight yarns are available in 3 different bases:

Wooly Silk – 70% Merino 30% Silk  

       Hanging Lake – 75% Merino SW 25% Nylon 

Crystal Mill 75% Merino SW 25% Nylon

All are hand dyed here on the ranch with professional acid dyes.

Artisan Stitch Markers

Stitch Markers are a great way to keep track of your knitting progress.

Put them on your needles in between your pattern repeats and you will soon be on your way to never losing your place again.

I have created these colorful markers not only to be functional, but to add an additional bit of beauty to your knitting project.

Sets come in two sizes:  4 markers will fit up to a size 3 needle and 6 markers will fit up to a size 9 needle.

Jumbo Crochet Hooks 

You will love the look and the feel of these gorgeous jumbo crochet hook. The wood is warm and silky to the touch and a pleasure to work with.

We carry 28mm hooks in 23.5″ lengths for Tunisian Crochet and 10″ length all of which are perfect for those chunky yarns and will make up a rug, scarf, blanket, basket etc quick as a wink.

All of our hooks are handmade by artisans who expertly craft these works of art which will last for years to come. The attention to detail in both the design and finish are amazing.
